Para Kore Annual Report 2018 - 2019
E aku nui, e aku rahi
Ko tai nunui, ko tai roroa o mihi
E whati atu rā ki runga i a koutou katoa.
This year the Board, with the support of the management team, have focused on building strong foundations for Para Kore - stability and consolidation as an organisation as well as growth on multiple fronts. We have addressed fundamental issues of the core purpose, functions, infrastructure of Para Kore to bring to a point where we can consider wider questions of future sustainability.
Achieving stability opens up the potential for change and innovation - how can we do things better? As we grow we need to ensure we remain relevant in a changing world. A key and urgent concern for the Board going forward will be to work with the management team to ensure Para Kore remains financially viable, particularly as we explore the diversification of funding streams. This will require us to thoroughly review our mission and vision looking at how Para Kore fits in te ao hurihuri.
I wish to thank the Para Kore team, the management team and our Kaihautū Matua, Jacqui Forbes for your professionalism and unstinting commitment to the organisation. I would also like to acknowledge and welcome Jaroz Popata who joined the Board in April, and thank and farewell Bronwyn Hunt (Te Hiku), who resigned in December, and Rawinia Leatherby (Taranaki) who resigned in May. Finally I would like to thank the entire Board for your ongoing contribution and commitment to the Para Kore kaupapa. As I will step down at the AGM, I would also like to wish Para Kore all the very best for the future – I will continue to be an ardent advocate for the work of Para Kore.
Ngā manaakitanga o te wā ki runga i a koutou.
