🌱 Our Kāti te Moumou Kai challenge is underway! While registrations for this round are closed, you can still take action. If you’re keen to join the next challenge, register your interest—or explore our He Mana tō te Kai programme to deepen your understanding of kai waste and food sovereignty.
🚯 This wero is for all of us to put less kai in the bin and reconnect with the ways of our tūpuna. Kai needs the right environment to break down, yet when sent to the ruapara (landfill), it releases harmful gases like methane 🌏⚠️—harming Ranginui, Papatūānuku, me o raua uri.
🌾 Not too long ago, we grew, shared, hunted, gathered, and foraged kai. We knew that kai is precious, kai is rongoā—he mana tō te kai. But today’s systems put pūtea over our taiao, disconnecting us from the ways of our tūpuna and Atua Māori.
✨ Through our He Mana tō te Kai programme, we work with whānau, marae, and communities to reclaim our connection to kai, reduce waste, and make lasting change in our whare and hapori. This in-depth kaupapa is delivered by our Kaiārahi and delivery partners—supporting you on this journey.
🌏💚 Hikina te wero e hoa mā!
