Para Kore is calling for a Global Plastics Treaty that makes deep cuts to plastic production, fossil fuel extraction, and chemical manufacturing. Current negotiations have stripped references to Indigenous rights and UNDRIP, silencing Māori and Indigenous voices. Indigenous-led solutions are essential to ending plastic pollution and building truly circular, toxin-free systems.

Para Kore stands in solidarity with Palestine, Lebanon, South Sudan, Congo, West Pāpua, Kanaky and all oppressed and marginalised people across the globe. We unequivocally condemn the violence, dispossession and ongoing genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli Defence Force. 

Waste incineration to get rid of waste and generate energy does not align with tikanga Māori (principles), and is seen by Para Kore as a false solution to solving our waste crisis.
